Week 53: May 29, 2017: This week was another really good one!

Hola familia!

This week was another really good one! One of the best things that

happened was that R M (the 14 yr old that got baptized on

Saturday) went to the temple on Tuesday!! He absolutely LOVED it! He

was so happy to tell us about it on Sunday and since his parents still

haven't gone, we are planning to attend the temple and do baptisms

with them sometime soon! Hopefully this weekend :)

We had a couple lessons with J this week and they went super well!

He is preparing to be baptized on June 10th and is super solid for

that day! He is really sweet and so excited about his baptism. We had

dinner with his family on Saturday and his nonmember parent were there

and then came to church on Sunday! The first time I met them they were

a little hesitant about the church but they seem like they are willing

to learn and are open to trying now, so thats good!

We had a couple more lessons with I (pronounced Isaiah...) this

week and he is doing great! We taught him on Saturday and then he came

to church on Sunday and also came to the Memorial Day breakfast for

our ward this morning! He was walking around dancing with all the

Hispanics and I'm pretty sure is like best friends with all of our

members so way to go.. turns out he speaks spanish, which we didn't

know, and like 6 other languages so he can literally communicate with

everyone. He is awesome.

We took A A out with us this week as well and it happened to

be when we didn't have any appointments set up so she got to see

another side of missionary work where you try a ton of less actives

and potential investigators. We had a couple funny experiences. We

have been trying to develop charity for the people in our area and

definitely had a couple experiences where we could practice haha

Things are good though! I hope dad and Jason have tons of fun in

Cozumel.
Love you all lots :) have a good week!

Week 52: May 22, 2017: ONE YEAR THIS WEEK!!!

Hey Family!
SO many good things happened this week!

THE M FAMILY GOT BAPTIZED. All went well and they were baptized on
Saturday night! They are literally incredible and I feel so blessed to
have had this opportunity to teach and become friends with them. They
were confirmed on Sunday and Rusbber and Ruster were given the
priesthood after church so that they can attend the temple to do
baptisms this Tuesday. The baptismal service was great, good talks and
lots of laughs. I led the music and didn't really think that I may
need to know how to lead the music so I stood up in the chapel where
the director stands looking like a fool haha but it helped me to
create a stronger bond with some of the members. Ya we had to do it in
the chapel because there were too many people there to do it in any of
the rooms. We were a little worried though when the baptism started
at 7pm and nobody showed up (not even the Muñoz family) until like
7:20. But thats pretty typical for Kaw River...

We have a sweet investigator named J that is actually going to the
Chapel Hill ward right now because he has family there but he is super
solid! We have been going to the chapel hill ward every week for the
past 4 weeks to teach their gospel principles class in Spanish. We had
a lesson with him on Thursday as well and when we asked him how he was
feeling he just started crying and was saying how much better he is
because he has the gospel. It was awesome. We are teaching him on
Tuesday and hopefully we can get him on date

We found quite a few new investigators this week so that was way good.
The mission is always so much better when you have people to teach
haha. 2 of them are friends and rappers and they are literally so
funny. One of them wrote a book about his life cause its been pretty
crazy and he gave us signed copies of it after we gave him the Book of
Mormon haha.

Another one is a woman named E who had been taught a
little bit by the elders a couple months ago that they referred to us
and she is so sweet! She's definitely got some potential as well.
It has been a good week!

It sounds like you all had a great week too and good things are coming up!
I cant believe Jason graduates thisSaturday! He is so old holy cow. That's crazy.
He'll have so much funup at BYU-I and make sure he takes his go pro to Cozumel
so he can have some sweet pictures..thats so awesome! What is an Airbnb? His
graduation card that you sent me looks great! I have it up on my wall
with some other pictures of the fam.

Rachel's derby car looks so good! She's such a cutie and that was a fun idea.
Jason's would have been a good idea if he had found the CO2 cartridges in time!
Dang. Those pictures of Macey and Halle were so cute!! They are getting so big!

What else does mom have to do for survivor?? That would be way cool if
she got on! What season is she trying out for?? I think that she would
do great and it would be hard but way fun. I hope that rachel does
well in her game this weekend so that she can go to nationals!

Dad, you've traveled a lot to foreign spanish speaking countries,
where has been your favorite or where do you think would be good
places to go when I get home? Where has good beaches and fun hikes or
things to do?

I love and miss you all lots and its great to hear from you :)

Week 51: May 15, 2017: I have no time to write today!

I'm so sorry that I have like no time to write today! I love and miss

you all lots and it was great to get to talk with you yesterday! I

kinda gave you lots of updates yesterday so I'm not sure how much more

i have to say but this week was good! We did tons of service this week

for members and non members. We found a couple really cool new

investigators. We had a really good lesson with the M family last

night and they are doing awesome! They have been living the word of

wisdom for 3 weeks now so they should be good to get baptized this

weekend! Tons of miracles are happening and I feel blessed to be a

part of them. Again, sorry that i didn't have much time to write.

So a couple things before I go:

-gps has been struggling, do we have any more laying around the house?

- I will talk to our mission nurse about my face this week and let you

know what she says

-dont know if this is too much but when you send my a pair of my nike

basketball shorts will you also send my whitening strips??

Love you lots! Thanks so much for all of your love and support I have

the best family ever

Week 50: May 8, 2017; I got to stay in Kaw River for at least another transfer so I am so excited!

Hey Fam!

I got to stay in Kaw River for at least another transfer so I am super

excited! Hermana Sly got transferred though and is serving in the

visitor center. I am now companions with Hermana Guerrero and things

are going well! She is from Mexico and I came out to the mission with

her. We only knew each other for the last week in the MTC but it

should be fun! They whitewashed the elders (took both of them out and

put in 2 new elders). And we lost our ward mission leader so i am the

only one that knows anything about any of the people we are working

with. Slightly intimidating but its gone good so far.

Ya it was super sad that the M family isn't end up getting

baptized last week but they are still doing super well and R

hasn't had coffee in like a week!! So things might be looking up! We

just had a little bump in the road but hopefully everything will work

out for the 20th. The word of wisdom is definitely a hard thing to

overcome and I am so inspired when people are willing to make that

commitment.

And T baptism was awesome! She is literally incredible! She got

baptized on Tuesday and just got confirmed yesterday and everything is

going well! She did have to go to the hospital last night because her

body is NOT reacting well to not smoking but she is still staying

strong and wont smoke for anything. It's crazy that we met her and

then exactly 2 weeks later, she was baptized. That was a cool miracle!

Sorry I dont have much time today.

Thanks for sending all the pictures! They all look so cute! That's

awesome about Rachel! She is so talented at sports and does well in

school too! Ill keep all of you in my prayers as dad has oral surgery and

mom is doing physical therapy and grandmas not doing well. I hope that

everything goes well! I'm sure the truck looks good! Will you take a

picture and send it to me?

I have been listening to general conference talks as I get ready in the morning.

Most of them are not from this past general conference but they were all really

good! The one that impacted our investigators the most was "To the Friends and

Investigators of the Church". "Songs Sung and Unsung" and the "Language

of the Gospel" were both really good as well! "Called to the work" is

really good too! I dont know, there are so many and I dont have much

more time to talk about them.

I love and miss you all lots!

Have a great week :)

Our ward mission leader took us to ice cream for our last
correlation meeting before transfers
The missionaries that were serving in Kaw River.
I'm the last one standing.

Week 49: May 1, 2017: I learned so much from teaching with a member.

Hey,

Ya we have been super busy lately, which is a really good! The M

Family did not end up getting baptized this week because of some

problems with the word of wisdom so that was a bummer. It was actually

super rough cause he kept telling us it was fine and that there were

no problems but then we found out after his baptismal interview that

he is still drinking it so we had to cancel the baptism the night

before. And now they're embarrassed and didn't come to church for the

first time in 6 months. We taught them last night though and they are

still struggling with it. Rusbber said that he will stop drinking

coffee when Americans stop drinking coke...so in other words, he has

no desire to stop... ya.

But T is still doing well! She passed her interview on Friday and

will be getting baptized tomorrow! I cant believe how prepared she

is...when we first met her, we taught the Restoration and the word of

wisdom and she was like "alright, last night was my last cigarette!".

She hasn't smoked since and has been taught all the lessons and is SO

ready to get baptized tomorrow so things are going well with her.

Yesterday was pretty fun because we showed up to church early so that

we could do our studies there but a member from the other ward (chapel

hill) walked past and invited us to come and teach a lesson to some

investigators that were at his ward but they spoke spanish and Chapel

Hill is an English area. It was super cool and I learned so much from

teaching with the member.

Glad to hear that everything is going well in Texas! I'm so glad that

you had a good time on your trip! That would be so fun and I would

love to go there and see it all in person! We will have to go when I

get home. Mom said that we can travel when I get home :) That would be

so fun! Ill have to think about where I want to go.

When you're on reserve are you pretty much just on call all the time

or what? Ya thats so crazy that Jason graduates this month, what the

heck!

I love and miss you all so much, thanks for the pictures and emails!
We had a Relief Society Activity this week.

Random horse we saw on the side of the road.
