try to cram as much info as I can into this quick email but sorry that
its not going to be as lengthy as some of the other ones that I have
sent in the past.
This week was walk week and we had to drop a lot of
our investigators this week because they weren't keeping their
commitments so we had to do a lot of tracting but it wasn't bad! The
weather was pretty nice and we got to meet and talk to lots of people!
We were tracting at like 8pm on Wednesday and were just getting
rejection after rejection after rejection, which is not super fun and
we were starting to feel a little burnt out and tired, but then at
like 8:20 we felt prompted to go and knock on the door of this house
on the corner and this Spanish lady literally just let us right in and
after a while we were able to meet with her husband and daughter too.
They were SO SWEET! We asked her if she went to church and she said
that she wasn't but that she had been searching for a church for a
long time. She told us of an experience when she was younger where she
knew that God was real and that now he is a huge part in her life but
she hasn't found a church where she feels comfortable and wants to
stay at yet. She was so sweet and so open to our message so hopefully
it wont be too long until she realizes that our church is where its at
;) When her husband came up, he started telling us about him being
diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer and basically being told that he
was going to die...but he LIVED! And he bore a powerful testimony on
prayer and that Christ knows each and every one of us personally. We
shared the Because of Him video that was put out by the church (which
I HIGHLY recommend watching) and they loved it! They have had a crazy
life of addictions and abuse and everything but they shared that they
were able to overcome all of it and have such a strong testimony now!
It was super cool! We are definitely going to keep working with them.

We were able to meet with a less active this week, who was super
sweet! When we went to her apartment, the front doors were locked but
we felt like we needed to be there so we just creepily waited outside
for like almost 10 minutes before a man came to open it for us and
then went up to her apartment. She was watching the bachelor, which
was SUPER tempting not to watch because it was literally just playing
in the background while we talked to her cause her TV wouldn't pause
or something and she couldn't find the remote to mute it...but we were
able to get to know her, share a message, and then she was at church
on Sunday! It was so awesome! She told us that because of health
issues, she couldn't sit that long but we walk into church and she is
sitting there waiting, it was a huge miracle!
Also, a random and very trivial miracle was that Thursday was a very
emotionally exhausting day because of Heidi's birthday and everything
but that night when we were syncing our schedules on areabook in
McDonalds, the worker just randomly decides to give me a free Oreo
McFlurry. It was absolutely delicious and I enjoyed every bite. I love
how thats such a small thing in the scheme of things but it shows that
Christ is very aware of us and will lift us when we are down, even if
its just through free ice cream.
We have another appointment with P this week so hopefully that will
go well! We are praying that he will accept the baptismal invitation
this week. He came to church last week and LOVED it. He couldn't stop
talking about how good the talks were and said that he wanted to come
back. He couldn't come yesterday but hopefully the spirit touched him
while he was at church and it will make a difference.
We haven't heard anything from S for a while so we are hoping that
he is doing well. We have tried to call him a couple times and have
gotten nothing in return. Although it didn't work out, I hope that he
is able to quit his addictions and take control of his body and
spirit. I hope that he will eventually have the capacity to accept and
fully live the teachings of the gospel and I know that he will be
blessed.
Well I guess that this email is turning out to be pretty long but it
was a good week and I hope that everything is going well at home! I
love and miss you all so very much and i think and pray for you often.
I am glad that everyone's health seems to be improving. I'm sure that
mom will do a great job speaking at the event in California this
week. I know that deep vein thrombosis can be a hard and emotional
subject but I know that shell do great!
I'm sure that Jason is disappointed about not getting into BYU but I
know that he will still have a great time and things will all work out no
matter which school he goes to.
I loved seeing all the pictures that dad sent of the
family and babies. I cant wait to finally meet them in person.
I love and miss you all so much! Have a great week!
