I love my new wards too! Yesterday was my first sunday at church and it was so awesome. They were all so welcoming. It's interesting going to multiple wards cause we are in church like all day. But the YSA had one of the best Gospel Principles and Relief Society lessons I have ever heard. In GP we just talked about the word of wisdom but she explained it in such a simple way and tied it back to being a "spiritual" law so it was pretty dang good. In RS we talked about knowledge and the teacher, Gabbi, was perfect to talk about that. For part of it, she had us make a list on the board of all of our needs and desires and then talked about how in order to achieve every single one of them, we have to have knowledge. She talked about how the Lord will give us anything we want if we learn about it. I don't remember exactly how she said it but I promise it was good. Basically it was like, knowledge is the key to getting anything we want.
ELDER CHRISTOFFERSON came to our mission on Saturday and it was so good!!! Better than expected. He was so inspired and literally said so many good things. I'll probably send you some of my notes but one of my favorite things was what he said at the end. In his closing remarks, he said: "if the Lord were to look down upon us right now, He wouldnt see a whole group of missionaries. He would see individuals. He knows our struggles and our thoughts and desires individually. In fact, there is nothing about you that He isn't perfectly familiar with. And so, when you pray, you can pray with great faith and confidence that youre talking to someone who knows and loves you and knows how to help you. Don't ever permit the thought to dwell in you that He doesn't love you, or that He doesnt understand. Its not true. It's totally untrue. So turn to Him quite often. And when you go home, turn to Him even more! its not as natural at home as it is as a missionary, and doesn't happen unless you make it happen. But always be aware of the blessing of your missionary service. Sometimes missionaries will go home and think that the Lord owes them. And that makes me sick! You came on this mission in debt of Him, and you leave your mission in greater debt! Because of the overwhelming blessing He's given you."
Enough said... I know that is so true and I am so grateful for this sacred blessing that I have to serve as a missionary in the MIM!
I'll talk more about investigators and such next week :) I am still trying to learn about them myself lol.
I would just like to apologize in advance for how terrible I will be at emailing. Now that I'm back to having Monday pday, pday sports is back...
